When I talk to people about their diet and how we are going to get them back into balance, one of the biggest fears people have is will they be able to go out and enjoy a few drinks and a meal with friends or will they have to live their life totally like a vegetarian hippy. Now, whilst I think it would be fantastic if we could all live a life that was based around eating from the land and taking what Mother Nature gives us, I also realise that we are social creatures, we all live different lives and we all have different ways we like to relax, and this is where balance comes in.
Providing you are eating well throughout the week, that you are taking care of all aspects of yourself your mental, your physical and your emotional and that you are not planning to go out and consume 20 pints of lbeer, or a few bottles of wine, a huge meal and then fall straight into bed, there is nothing wrong with letting your hair down now and then. To be honest, once you get into the routine of healthy living you will not want this so much, but life is about balance.
When I talk to people about their addictions to cream cakes or chocolates and I tell them that eventually they simply will not want these things, they never believe me! After a month or two they always tell me, with utter amazement how they no longer crave these foods, instead they have learnt to listen to their body and what it wants.
Go out, have fun, just take care of yourself, and if you over do it, then compensate at the weekend. Eat plenty of fruit, fresh vegetables and water. Give your system a flush through! Lynn xx http://www.nicholsons.synthasite.com
