Finally the Truth!

Posted by Lynn Nicholson on Friday, January 9, 2009, In : Lynns´Blogs

I hate the way TV adverts encourage children to eat rubbish as if in some way it will help them in life, make them more popular with their friends you know the kind of thing and yet I have to say that I was delighted with the latest advert from that burger company, the one with the clown (the effects of too much junk food) they hit the nail right on the head with their latest.

Two teams of children playing football. One side looses and the others receive the Trophy for winning. The other team ...

How To Feed Your Children!

Posted by Lynn Nicholson on Tuesday, December 2, 2008, In : Lynns´Blogs
Here’s a look at six common mistakes parents make when feeding their children.

1. Sending Children Out of the Kitchen

It is understandable that parents don’t want children close to hot stoves, boiling water and sharp knives. But studies suggest that involving children in meal preparation is an important first step in getting them to try new foods, they will often just pick up a raw carrot and start nibbling whilst telling you about their day!

2. Pressuring Them to Take a Bite

Two bananas a day keep blood pressure at bay

Posted by Lynn Nicholson on Monday, December 1, 2008, In : Lynns´Blogs
Two bananas a day can help control high blood pressure, offering a cheap alternative to expensive drugs, according to scientists.

The finding supports earlier research that potassium-rich food such as bananas could play a role in controlling blood pressure.

A 1997 study suggested people would have to eat five bananas a day to have half the effect of a blood pressure-controlling pill.

Now researchers in India have reported that blood pressure fell by 10% in people who ate two bananas dai...

Almonds

Posted by Lynn Nicholson on Monday, November 17, 2008, In : Lynns´Blogs

We all remember sugared almonds, those incredibly hard sweets that seemed designed to keep the dentists in business in January after the Christmas festivities, and we know that eating a handful of almonds a day is a great way towards reducing the risks of cancer and yet there is one aspect of almonds that is often neglected. The oil.

People spend an absolute fortune on conditioning hair products, looking for that bottle of chemically produced liquid to turn their hair into the look of a superm...

Protecting Yourself From Sabotage.

Posted by Lynn Nicholson on Thursday, November 13, 2008, In : Lynns´Blogs
As a strong fan of Dr Phil and his ability to get the message across to us all in a clear and concise way, I wanted to share something with you from his web site. http://www.drphil.com

I wanted you to read this as I hear so many people talking about how they tried to make changes, maybe a relocation, a new business or a new partner and yet, the people they thought would offer them support seem to be reacting in the complete opposite way.

My belief is if you have the tools, you can overcome an...

Purple Tomatoes!

Posted by Lynn Nicholson on Wednesday, October 29, 2008, In : Lynns´Blogs
I read with interest yesterday how a ´team´had created a purple tomato. They had managed to pull genes from other plants and bring them all together to create this new wonder tomato.
It is hailed as the new fruit that can help slow down the growth of cancer, or at least within mice, and yet still the world of science seems to miss the point.
If you eat a healthy diet, take care of yourself and avoid ´man made´products you probably will not get cancer in the first place.
Trying to heal your...
